I keep trying out the needle felting technique on to crochet basic figures. Lately I do not have as much free time so I rarely update the blog, sorry.
The result is better than expected, but this needle felting Stitch is quite more fragil than a complete crocheted Stitch. I think this Stitch is going to be a decorative element on a quiet place because his ears are too long and may break if we use it as an actual keychain.

Crochet
The crochet part is very simple because it is just a piece that works as head and body.
How to read this pattern:
SC: Single crochet. The last number between [ ] is the number of stitches that you should have at the end of the row.
INC: Increment (2 single crochet on every stitch of the previous row).
DEC: Decrease (2 stitches of the previous row on one single crochet).

Eyespots and the belly should be neddle felted with a lighter blue. Mouth is a slim black line. It took me quite a bit making that half-smiling and I'm not 100% confident with the result, just give it a try.
Ears are the most difficult part. First, I made a 3D blue cone, and then I putted the pink part trying to make a little "hole" on the base of the ear.
Finally, I made darker blue spots on Stitch's back.
¿What do you think? ¿Are you going to give a try on this technique? I find it quite harder to explain how it works, I mean, crochet has a very "mathematical" way to share patterns, but this needle felting is more improvisation and try and fail work.
Hope it gives you some ideas.

Needle felt
Once we have the crocheted base, we need to needle felt the rest. With the needle felting needles, make 4 little balls that will be legs and arms. Legs should have a more "triangled" shape. Nedle felt every arm and leg carefully. Also, make a fifth ball to make the little tail.Eyespots and the belly should be neddle felted with a lighter blue. Mouth is a slim black line. It took me quite a bit making that half-smiling and I'm not 100% confident with the result, just give it a try.
